Although pregnancy is not covered by the ADA, many disability services offices are being asked by their institutions to provide support to pregnant students.
The Pregnant Scholar Project – “For Students” section has some excellent resources DSS staff can share with students including a section covering Title IX basics. There is also a FAQ section and the Student Rights section addresses the following topics:
- Breastfeeding
- Accommodations for pregnancy related conditions
- Working at school while pregnant or parenting
- Financial aid
- Extracurricular and athletic activities, and;
- Leave and absences
Although not easily located at the site, this same information is also available in PDF form as brief handouts.
